1.) Upon arrival, Mike had to take a phone picture of my driver's license (both sides) & vehicle plate. Had to close my card when arrived home.
Here is a list of poor customer relations & negative experiences:
5.)Proprietors KEPT the SECURITY DEPOSIT!!!! - Before leaving we cleaned the entire cabin - swept floors, wiped down countertops, washed out refrigerator & stove top, made beds as they were upon arrival. Since we did not put garbage in the correct spot, put towels in the bathtub (we hung them up), and did not take the trash out of the bathroom, according to Mike we forfeited our security deposit. (Not sure what the $50 cleaning fee we paid was for????)
6.) When contacting Mike about the security deposit we encountered customer service like we've never experienced before. When responding to Mike's email about our security deposit he concluded with, "If we have any questions please feel free to contact us." After attempting two times by phone and one by email, Mike finally responded via email with, "What do you need?" Quickly we called him and found there was absolutely no talking with Mike. He did not let us talk. He interrupted every time we spoke. Eventually our communication escalated and boiled over into Mike hanging up on us and completing the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER with any PROPRIETOR - ANYWHERE!!!
Our past experiences with renting has been excellent. We expected to have the same. To our disbelief the proprietors of Drover's Den gave us a rude awakening!
2.) Each morning our two boys woke up with bug bites from the pull out couch they slept on!
3.) Two days into our trip Mike, the proprietor, drove his tree cutting equipment onto his second rental home property. Within 75 yards of Drover's Den at 7:30 in the morning we listened to a chain saw and a wood chipper! My husband called Mike to inform him of possible tree removal without his permission and Mike said, "I'm the one cutting down the trees I thought you said you were early risers." (Not something we wanted to listen to as an early riser!!!)
